BECU is the second-largest credit union in the United States.

I spent the summer working full-time for their PR and Social Media department. The rules around finance are a little different regarding PR, and most of my work was done under an NDA, but I can share more about my experience and what I learned.

I worked full-time and had just adopted my wonderful puppy, Winnie (package deal). So often days looked like this for us >

Halfway through my internship experience, my supervisor unexpectedly went on maternity leave early. I took on many different responsibilities that I could have had if she was still in office; this gave me invaluable experience with flexibility, leadership, and the chance to do more, go farther, and push harder.

BECU Crop Mural

Because of her absence, I took the lead on crafting a pitch, sending it, and solidifying placement for the BECU Crop Mural, and art project for WSU students at the start of the school year.

This was by far my favorite project because I got to own it completely, managing the messaging, placements, and documentation. I take so much pride in being able to develop and build an entire project by myself, from my ideas and passion!
